The Emerging Security Professional of the Year Award recognizes a member who has made a significant difference to their chapter, the association or the information security community through dedicated and selfless service to ISSA.
Nominations may be made by any member in good standing.
Members may not self-nominate or mutually cross-nominate
Current members of the International Board and Chapter Board of Directors are ineligible
The Awards Committee may also nominate additional qualified candidates.
Any current members of the International Board of Directors or Awards Committee associated with any nominee must recuse themselves for the review process for the candidate.
Nominees may be nominated for significant academic contribution to the profession (e.g., research, thesis, publication).
Each nominator is limited to one Emerging Security Professional of the Year Award nomination.
Nominees are evaluated by criteria as outlined in the Nomination Form.
To be Considered:
Must be a member in good standing at the time of the nomination.
Nominees must have less than four (4) years of experience as an information systems practitioner.
Must have shown initiative and leadership in the development or significant enhancement of a program or achievement.
Exemplified the commitment to the effectiveness, advancement, and professionalism of our members.
Exhibited significant commitment to the Chapter (e.g. led a committee, significantly helped in the planning and execution of a Chapter or local Cybersecurity event).
Honoree Receives:
An award to display in their office or home.
A North Texas ISSA magnetic lapel pin.
An invitation to receive their award at a public ceremony.
Listing on the chapter’s website.
North Texas ISSA digital credential (e.g., badge) for their personal use.
